Andrea M. Zulberti
Andrea Zulberti is a member of the American Kidney Fund Board of Trustees and serves on the Finance and Public Support Committees.
Ms. Zulberti retired from Barclay’s Global Investors (BGI, now Blackrock, Inc.), one of the world’s largest investment management and advisory companies. In 2010, she was appointed to the board of directors of SYNNEX Corporation, a Fortune 500 business process services company. She has also served on the boards of ProLogis, a NYSE-traded REIT, and Woodside Priory, a private preparatory school.
In 14 years at BGI, she served as chief financial officer, head of global risk management and head of global operations. She was active in the strategic management of the firm worldwide, leading all acquisition activity and serving as an executive officer of BGI and five of its affiliated companies.
Her drive and tenacity began at an early age when she traveled alone halfway around the world to California to complete her higher education. She graduated with honors with a degree in business administration from California State University at Hayward and practiced as a public accountant with Arthur Andersen & Co.
She is widely-traveled, and an accomplished public speaker who is fluent in written and spoken French, and conversant in Chinese, Spanish and Portuguese. She now spends time as a private investor, advisory to private start-up companies and mentor to young entrepreneurs. Most recently, she has been fulfilling a personal dream of “doing well by doing good:” Along with three partners, she is dedicating time to the development of a senior living community that will respond to seniors’ needs for specialized housing and a continuum of integrated services, allowing them to optimize the aging process.
