John F. Weidenbruch, Esq.
John Weidenbruch has served as a member of the Board of Trustees of the American Kidney Fund since May 2011 and currently serves as Treasurer. He previously served as the Secretary of the Board.
Mr. Weidenbruch recently joined Visterra Inc., a biotechnology company in Cambridge, Massachusetts, as general counsel and corporate secretary. Visterra is a privately-held company that is engaged in the research and development of therapeutic products to fight infectious diseases.
Prior to joining Visterra, Mr. Weidenbruch spent five years as chief global commercial counsel for Biogen, a multinational biopharmaceutical company also located in Cambridge. In addition, he has worked with several other global companies in the life sciences sector, including Idenix Pharmaceuticals, Abraxis BioScience, Amgen and Syntex Laboratories. He began his legal career as a state government affairs lobbyist for the Nonprescription Drug Manufacturers Association in Washington, D.C.
He holds a B.A. from Loyola University in Baltimore and a J.D. from Georgetown University Law Center in Washington, D.C.
