Robert M. Tarola, CPA
Bob Tarola is President of Right Advisory, LLC, a consulting firm formed in 2008 which offers a unique perspective to address business and professional challenges of accountants, auditors, attorneys, governance bodies and finance professionals. Mr. Tarola has extensive experience as a director, CFO and auditor of publicly held companies.
Mr. Tarola currently serves as a director of public mutual funds sponsored by Legg Mason, Inc., a director of TeleTech Holdings, Inc. (NASDAQ: TTEC), and as a Trustee of the American Kidney Fund. He is an audit committee financial expert.
He is a former Chief Financial Officer of W. R. Grace & Co. (1999-2008) (NYSE:GRA), MedStar Health, Inc. (1996-99), Howard University (2009-13), and Southcoast Health System (2014-present)—all large organizations with complex and multinational operations. His positions with both Howard University and Southcoast Health were under a contractual agreement with Right Advisory to provide financial and operational improvement services and consulting.
Prior to serving 17 years as a CFO, Mr. Tarola was a partner with Price Waterhouse LLP. During his 22-year tenure with Price Waterhouse, he served in a variety of capacities, including regional managing partner for a strategic industry segment, a partner in its national SEC services group, and an engagement partner for major client accounts.
He was an at-large member of the governing council of the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants, a past member of its assurance services executive committee, a past and current member of the board of directors of the Maryland Association of Certified Public Accountants, and holds licenses to practice accountancy in three states and the District of Columbia. Mr. Tarola served on the Standing Advisory Group of the Public Company Accounting Oversight Board and currently serves on its Investors Advisory Group. He is listed in the International Who’s Who of Professionals.
He is a Certified Public Accountant and a Chartered Global Management Accountant. He holds a bachelor’s degree in business administration degree from Temple University where he chaired the Advisory Board to the president of the university. In 2005 he received the Musser Award for Excellence in Alumni Leadership from Temple’s Fox School of Business.
Mr. Tarola is Chair-Elect of the American Kidney Fund (AKF) Board of Trustees and serves on the Audit, Health Insurance Premium Program (HIPP), Finance, Public Support and Executive Committees, and is Chair of the Board Development Committee.
