John Butler joined Genzyme in 1997 as product manager for Renagel. He has led the company’s renal, endocrine, and cardiovascular businesses, managing Genzyme’s approved products as well as the development of Genzyme’s cardiometabolic and renal portfolio. In 2010, Mr. Butler was appointed president of Genzyme’s Personalized Genetic Health business unit. He oversees Genzyme’s personalized genetic health portfolio of products, including lysosomal storage disorder treatments and cardiovascular products. Mr. Butler has also served as vice president of strategic planning, vice president of Renagel Europe, and senior vice president and general manager of the renal business unit. Prior to joining Genzyme, he worked in sales and marketing at Amgen Inc. Mr. Butler is a Trustee of the American Kidney Fund and serves on the Executive, Board Development, Communications & Marketing, Public Support and Public Policy Committees.
Mr. Butler has an M.B.A. from Baruch College and a B.A. from Manhattan College. |
