Newt Walpert is HP’s vice president and general manager of Volume Sales for the Personal Systems Group in the United States.
Previously, from 2001 to 2002, Mr. Walpert was the general manager for HP’s North America Business Customer Sales Organization (BCSO), sales and marketing division -- where he was responsible for computing and software solutions aimed at the commercial sales segment.
Starting in 1999, Mr. Walpert was general manager for HP’s Hardcopy National Accounts Organization. His responsibilities in this position included driving channel sales of HP’s portfolio of printing and imaging products throughout the U.S.
Prior to that post, in 1995, Mr. Walpert was responsible for leading the development and management of channel strategies, programs and operations that enabled HP to more effectively sell UNIX-based offerings through the channel.
Mr. Walpert was appointed Marketing Center manager for HP Asia-Pacific in 1992. This assignment included the development and execution of marketing activities for HP's printer and peripheral portfolio throughout the region, and included responsibility for driving the expansion and growth of hardcopy revenue and market-share throughout Asia.
Preceding his work in the Asia-Pacific Region, Mr. Walpert was a marketing manager for Hewlett-Packard (Canada) Co. A trustee of the American Kidney Fund, Mr. Walpert serves as Treasurer and is Chair of the Finance Committee. He also serves on the Board Development and Public Support Committees. Mr. Walpert earned a bachelor’s degree in marketing and finance from Concordia University in Montreal, Canada. |
