Tamara Ruggiero
Vice President of Communications and Marketing American Kidney Fund
Tamara Ruggiero is the American Kidney Fund's Vice President of Communications and Marketing. She has been with the American Kidney Fund since January 2005.
Ms. Ruggiero directs the organization's strategic efforts to communicate the impact of chronic kidney disease. Under her leadership, the American Kidney Fund has developed a robust website, substantially increased its media presence, and implemented numerous campaigns to increase the public's awareness and understanding of chronic kidney disease, our nation's ninth leading cause of death.
Her experience includes extensive communications and marketing work in both the private and non-profit sectors. She began her communications career in 1993 as a reporter and editor for a daily newspaper in Maryland. She has managed the communications functions for large organizations, including a hospital system and a national human resources organization, and has edited textbooks for some of the nation's largest publishers.
She holds a bachelor’s degree in journalism from Boston University and a master’s degree in education from Mount St. Mary’s University. |
