Southeast Regional Office
The American Kidney Fund's Southeast Regional Office opened in 1988 and is located in downtown Atlanta.
The Southeast Regional Office is involved in public and professional education, outreach, fundraising and special events. The office supports the Southeastern states of Georgia, Florida, North Carolina, South Carolina, Tennessee, Alabama, Mississippi and Louisiana. The region is supported by a group of dedicated volunteers who sit on a Regional Council. The Regional Council is made up of community representatives from Emory University, Morehouse School of Medicine, SunTrust, Atlanta Journal Constitution, and other organizations, as well as public health representatives and patient advocates.
Laura Williams is the Southeast Regional Director and manages the daily operations of the office.
The Southeast Regional Office offers a variety of community events that educate the general community regarding kidney disease and its leading causes – diabetes and high blood pressure. Throughout the year, we offer lunch & learn sessions, health fairs, kidney screenings, and professional education opportunities for renal professionals.
Special events are a hallmark of the Southeast Regional Office. Our Golf Tournament is entering its 20th year, and is sold-out year after year. The office also participates in workplace giving campaigns and works with a local thrift store that supports AKF.
Upcoming Special Events:
20th Annual Southeast Regional Golf Classic Atlanta, GA October 5, 2009
