Congressional Kidney Caucus

Members of Congress frequently join together to form a formal coalition (caucus) on a shared issue that is of interest to themselves or the districts and constituents they represent.

The Congressional Kidney Caucus was founded in 2002 by Members of Congress interested in educating their colleagues and the American people about chronic kidney disease and the role of the federal government in providing care to the growing number of Americans suffering from kidney failure.  Today, the bipartisan Caucus continues to advocate on behalf of kidney patients and raise awareness in Congress of the need for early detection and prevention of chronic kidney disease.  Congressman Jim McDermott (D-WA) and Congressman Tom Marino (R-PA) currently serve as the Co-Chairs of the Caucus.
