The American Kidney Fund’s annual national gala, The Hope Affair, was held October 25, 2011 in Washington, D.C.
Last year's event celebrated the American Kidney Fund's 40th anniversary and honored some very special people: Nephrologist of the Year Glenn M. Chertow, Hero of Hope Corey S. Furman, Caregiver of the Year Bernice Strange, and our 2012 Calendar Kids cover artist Danielle Long. Special guests included the Co-Chairs of the Congressional Kidney Caucus, Rep. Jim McDermott of Washington and Rep. Jim Marino of Pennsylvania; several other members of Congress; and AKF's celebrity health champion, Laila Ali. AKF gratefully acknowledges the support of all of our sponsors.
