Your 2015 accomplishments

We cannot thank you enough for your support of the American Kidney Fund. Last year, your generosity made it possible for us to provide vital programs and services to tens of thousands of people whose lives are affected by kidney disease.

  • Our Health Insurance Premium Program (HIPP) pays health insurance premiums for low-income dialysis patients who often are unable to work, ensuring that they have continuous access to physician care and medical treatment, including transplants.

  • Our Safety Net Program provides assistance to dialysis patients who are in urgent need of help with expenses related to treatment—including transportation to and from treatment, nutritional supplements and other essentials.

  • For many people, a diagnosis of kidney failure brings with it overwhelming medical expenses. Through a partnership with Sanofi Renal/Genzyme, we provide critical medications to patients who have no prescription drug coverage.

  • Our professional education program helps health professionals stay apprised of best practices and the latest information about kidney disease. All of our online courses focus on quality of care and improving patient outcomes.

  • If you are passionate about preventing kidney disease in your community, we can provide the training and the tools to make you a Kidney Health Educator.

  • We offer free health screenings, nutrition and fitness presentations, and kidney health education at events large and small around the country. We focus on areas where rates of kidney disease are higher than the national average so that we can help empower people to prevent kidney disease.

  • Chronic kidney disease affects 31 million people in the United States, and it is often preventable. Our community screening programs reach people who are at risk so they may take action to protect their kidney health.

  • We advocate for policies to improve the health of millions of Americans and their families who are living with, or are at risk of developing, kidney disease. Our Advocates make their voices heard on Capitol Hill and in their communities, spreading awareness of kidney disease and empowering those at risk to live healthier lives.

  • We provided education about preventing and treating kidney disease to millions of people who visited our website in 2015.

  • KIDNEYNATION is the American Kidney Fund's online fundraising community empowering everyone–kidney patients, loved ones, friends, and advocates–to fund the fight against kidney disease. Joining is all about forming one community and saving lives.
