Vehicle donation is quick and easy! We work with a reputable car donation program that will pick up your used car anywhere in the continental US and Hawaii at your convenience and at no cost to you.

What Do I Need to Donate My Car?

What can I donate?
We can accept most cars, trucks, vans, fleet vehicles, trailers, boats and RV's. Call AKF toll free at 1-888-638-1171 if you have questions about what you can donate.

Is my donation tax deductible?
The American Kidney Fund Service Organization, a registered 501(c)(3) charitable organization, handles our vehicle donations program. Your vehicle donation will qualify as a tax deduction if your tax status allows. Please check with your tax advisor to determine your tax benefit.

How does my tax deduction work?
The IRS allows you, the taxpayer, to claim a tax deduction of the value of your vehicle up to $500. If we sell the vehicle for more than $500, we will mail you a postcard with that value for your tax purposes. What do I need to do to donate my vehicle?
Please provide the vehicle title if available. If you do not have the title, tell us why and we can make arrangements in most instances.

My car hasn't run in years. Can I still donate it?
Yes, we are able to accept most vehicles whether they run or not. However, the condition of your vehicle will affect the fair market value of your donation.

In what states can you pick up vehicles?
Most vehicles can be picked up throughout the continental US and Hawaii.

We will arrange to have your vehicle towed at a scheduled time convenient to you.

How long will it take to pick up my car?
Your car normally can be picked up within a few days. If you need your car picked up sooner, those arrangements can also be made.
