The American Kidney Fund's Car Donation Program

Help kidney patients and raise awareness of kidney disease plus earn a tax deduction by donating your car, truck, boat or RV to the American Kidney Fund Service Organization (AKFSO). AKFSO is a registered 501 (c) (3) charitable organization which provides the net proceeds to the American Kidney Fund.

Vehicle donation is quick and easy! AKFSO works with Car Program, LLC, a reputable car donation program that will pick up your used car anywhere in the continental US and Hawaii at your convenience and at no cost to you.

How Do I Donate My Car?

What can I donate?
Car Program, LLC, will accept most cars, trucks, vans, fleet vehicles, trailers, boats and RV's. Call toll free 1-800-936-4356 if you have questions about what you can donate.

Is my donation tax deductible?
The American Kidney Fund Service Organization, a registered 501(c)(3) charitable organization, handles the vehicle donations program. Your vehicle donation will qualify as a tax deduction if your tax status allows. Please check with your tax advisor to determine your tax benefit.

How does my tax deduction work?
The IRS allows you, the taxpayer, to claim a tax deduction of the value of your vehicle up to $500. If your vehicle sells for more than $500, Car Program, LLC, will mail you a postcard with that value for your tax purposes. What do I need to do to donate my vehicle?
Please provide the vehicle title if available. If you do not have the title, tell Car Program, LLC, why and they can make arrangements in most instances.

My car hasn't run in years. Can I still donate it?
Yes, Car Program, LLC, is able to accept most vehicles whether they run or not. However, the condition of your vehicle will affect the fair market value of your donation.

Most vehicles can be picked up throughout the continental US and Hawaii.

Your car normally can be picked up within a few days. If you need your car picked up sooner, those arrangements can also be made.
