Receipts
Will I receive a receipt for my donated items?

Yes, upon pickup, the thrift store driver will leave a tax receipt for you to complete with your own valuation of donated items.

Will a thrift store pick up my gift of clothing and household items?

Absolutely! Just call for a free pickup at 214-275-8808 in Texas, 314-968-9768 in Missouri, and 770-441-2220 in Georgia. In Georgia, you may also go online to www.akfpickup.org.

Can I drop off my donated items at the store?

Yes, you can drop off at any thrift store location. In Georgia, you can call 770-441-2220 or log on to www.akfpickup.org to locate the drop box or store location closest to you.

Will a thrift store repair my broken appliances or damaged furniture?

No, the thrift stores have no repair facilities, but usable items are always in high demand.

Can I contribute out-of-date clothing?

Absolutely. Vintage clothing from all eras is very popular and welcomed.

Do you accept donations of cars and boats?

Thrift stores are unable to accept vehicle donations. However, the American Kidney Fund Service Organization has a Vehicle Donation Program that accepts cars, trucks, vans, boats, campers and RVs.  To make a vehicle donation, click here.
