Tips for Everyone Else

Anyone can get chronic kidney disease (CKD)!  There are over 31 million adults with kidney disease in the United States.  Even if you don't have any of the other risk factors for kidney disease, you should follow these tips for keeping your kidneys and your body healthy:

  • Get regular checkups from your doctor.
  • Get tested for diabetes and high blood pressure.
  • Eat a healthy diet.
  • Keep a healthy weight.
  • Exercise.
  • Don't smoke.
