For help applying for coverage and choosing a plan that meets your needs, the federal government offers many resources, including a toll-free call center, an online chat, and people in your local community who can answer your questions.
It’s important to note that most U.S. dialysis patients are already covered by Medicare. If you have Medicare, you should know that most things about Medicare won’t change, but there will be some enhanced benefits.
If you currently have other types of insurance, there are some important things to know. The federal government has information for people who already have job-based insurance.
One important aspect of healthcare reform has to do with pre-existing conditions. Insurers will no longer be able to deny coverage or charge more to people who have pre-existing conditions.
