KidneyAPPetite™ Frequently Asked Questions (FAQ)

Is there an Android version of the app planned?
Sanofi is looking for ways to enhance the app, so a potential rollout in 2014 may be available.

How were the daily nutrient guidelines developed?
The default recommended daily guidelines within KidneyAPPetite™ are based on widely recognized suggestions for the stage 5 CKD patient on hemodialysis. Specifically, the guidelines are pulled from the Council on Renal Nutrition of the National Kidney Foundation’s Pocket Guide to Nutrition Assessment of the Patient with Chronic Kidney Disease; the Institute of Medicine of the National Academies’ Dietary Reference Intakes for Calcium and Vitamin D; and the Centers for Disease Control publication, “Americans consume too much salt.”

Are the nutrient guidelines for dialysis patients only, or do they also work for people in earlier stages of CKD?
The guidelines are defaulted to widely recognized suggestions for the stage 5 CKD patient on hemodialysis.  The guidelines can be customized by the user based on his or her personal nutrient guidelines.

What if I have other questions about the app?
Please call Sanofi Customer Service at 800.633.1610.
