The American Kidney Fund leads the nation in charitable assistance to dialysis patients, helping more than 98,000 patients pay for health insurance premiums and other treatment-related expenses in 2016. We also help patients and family members with health information and resource referrals to patients in English and Spanish through our HelpLine, and we help the youngest kidney patients by providing grants for summer enrichment activities and through our annual Calendar Kids Art Contest.
If you are a patient who is in need of treatment-related financial assistance, speak with your dialysis center social worker about submitting an application to AKF.
The American Kidney Fund offers several programs that help qualifying kidney failure patients pay for health insurance premiums, prescription medicines and other treatment-related expenses. Patients should speak with their social workers to apply for these programs.
Do you have questions about your kidneys? Has someone you know recently received a diagnosis? Contact the American Kidney Fund’s HelpLine.
For more than 20 years, our Calendar Kids Program has given the youngest kidney patients the opportunity to express themselves through art and have the chance for national recognition in our annual calendar. The program is open to patients 16 and younger.
