Message from the President and CEO
Dear Friend,
Did you know that high blood pressure is the second leading cause of kidney disease? In fact, one out of four kidney failure cases is caused by high blood pressure.
You might be busy with summer plans, work or school, but take a few minutes for your health. My challenge to you is to have your blood pressure checked before the last day of June. Most cases of high blood pressure show no symptoms. The only way to know if you have high blood pressure is to be checked. Find out what your blood pressure numbers mean and learn what you can do to control your blood pressure.
I encourage you to visit AKF’s website regularly for information, exciting new podcasts, articles and health tips. As we continue in this exciting year filled with initiatives, programs and events that will help us further our mission of fighting kidney disease, watch your email for news and updates—and be sure to join the conversation on Facebook and Twitter.
With best wishes for your continued good health,
LaVarne A. Burton President and CEO
