NEW YORK (March 9) – Today, the American Kidney Fund announced its 4th Annual New York Spring Event to be held on World Kidney Day, March 11, at Twenty Four Fifth in New York City. The New York Spring Event is the American Kidney Fund’s signature fundraiser in New York City. This year’s event, chaired by Liz Enright, will honor kidney donor Carla Giampaglia as Humanitarian of the Year and Victor L. Schuster, M.D. as Nephrologist of the Year.
“We look forward to the New York Spring Event every year, as it gives us an opportunity to thank our friends and supporters in the Northeast,” said LaVarne A. Burton, President and Chief Executive Officer of the American Kidney Fund. “Furthermore, to have the opportunity to recognize people like Carla Giampaglia and Dr. Victor L. Schuster is truly a privilege.”
All proceeds of the fundraiser will be used to support the programs of the American Kidney Fund. In 2009, the American Kidney Fund provided over $2.2 million in treatment-related financial assistance to kidney patients in the state of New York.
