American Kidney Fund to Celebrate 20th Anniversary of Turquoise Cup Golf Classic in Atlanta

Atlanta, GA (October 2) –  The American Kidney Fund will hold the 20th Annual Turquoise Cup Golf Classic on Oct. 5 at the Dunwoody Country Club in Dunwoody, Georgia. T.Wayne Kauffman of TWK Consulting is serving as the 2009 Golf Chairman and Dara Broadus of Dara Broadus Corporation will serve as co-chair.

“This is an exciting time for the American Kidney Fund, as we celebrate the 20th Anniversary of the Turquoise Cup Golf Classic in Atlanta,” said LaVarne A. Burton, President and Chief Executive Officer of the American Kidney Fund.  “This event is an opportunity to thank our friends and supporters in the Southeast while raising funds and awareness of kidney disease.”

The American Kidney Fund’s Turquoise Cup Golf Classic will include an 18-hole tournament, cocktail reception, buffet dinner, and silent auction.  All proceeds of the Turquoise Cup Golf Classic will be used to support the programs of the American Kidney Fund.  These programs include providing direct financial assistance to kidney patients in need, health education and prevention services. In 2008, the American Kidney Fund provided over $4.5 million in treatment-related financial assistance to kidney patients in the state of Georgia.
