Topic: Medigap

Medigap is private insurance for people who receive Medicare to cover costs that Medicare does not cover. In some states, people with ESRD under the age of 65 cannot enroll in Medigap plans. Without Medigap insurance, ESRD patients can face extremely high out-of-pocket costs with no annual limit, and most transplant centers will not accept people with Medicare onto their transplant list without secondary insurance such as Medigap.
