We provided education about preventing and treating kidney disease to millions of people:

  • Our award-winning website received over 8.7 million pageviews by visitors seeking to learn about kidney health, and more than 140,000 patients, caregivers and kidney care professionals participated in our social media community.
  • We provided free kidney health screenings to more than 11,000 people in more than 20 cities nationwide, including more than 1,900 in our Know Your Kidneys D.C. pilot.
  • Nearly 11,000 AKF Ambassadors from all 50 states and D.C. fought against discriminatory health insurance practices and advocated for increased federal funding for kidney disease care and research.
  • Close to 1,000 AKF Kidney Health Coaches educated their communities about kidney disease and how to prevent it.
