Ensuring that U.S. dialysis patients are able to afford their medical expenses has been the heart of the American Kidney Fund’s mission since our founding 45 years ago. Our need-based programs help patients with health insurance premiums, transportation costs, prescription medications, and many other necessities related to health care. With the support of the generous American public, we’ve helped more than 1 million patients since 1971. Today, we are the trusted non-profit that helps about 1 out of every 5 patients in the United States. We are grateful to the nearly 63,000 individuals, foundations and corporations who support our work with charitable donations.
If you are living with kidney failure (also called end-stage renal disease, or ESRD) and you can’t afford your health care expenses, the American Kidney Fund may be able to help. We provide assistance with health insurance premiums, transportation costs, prescription medications, and other expenses related to care.
