John Moriarty is executive vice president and chief legal officer at Olema Pharmaceuticals, leading all legal, regulatory, governance and compliance initiatives and is a member of Olema's executive committee.

Prior to joining Olema, Moriarty was executive vice president and general counsel of Portola Pharmaceuticals, and previously was General Counsel of Alexion Pharmaceuticals where he had responsibility for overseeing all global legal matters as well as the global government affairs and corporate communications teams and developing those functions to support an increasing number of initiatives on behalf of patients with rare and devastating disorders in the 50 countries within which Alexion operates. Earlier in his career,  Moriarty was senior vice president, general counsel and chief legal officer at Elan Corporation plc, and held several legal leadership positions at Amgen focused on litigation, and led the Amgen legal teams for the company's commercial oncology, nephrology and hematology businesses. He has also worked as an attorney in the health care practice of a national law firm's Washington, D.C., and New York offices and was a health care fraud prosecutor in the U.S. Attorney's Office and the Virginia Attorney General's Office.

Moriarty holds a Juris Doctor from the University of Georgia School of Law and a Bachelor of Arts from the University of Virginia.
