Eric Sebastian Dolby Sr. was a registered nurse for 14 years, and his greatest passion has always been to help other people. But suddenly, his life came to an abrupt halt. Hypertension caused Mr. Dolby's kidneys to fail placing him on dialysis. Initially Mr. Dolby was attempting to deal with his new situation while holding on to his pride. Subsequently, during this process, he became homeless. With the help of the American Kidney Fund, he was able to get back on his feet. Upon doing this he started giving back and helping others again. He began to advocate for different issues related to dialysis patients on a state and federal level. Locally, Mr. Dolby feeds the homeless and volunteers at a local shelter. On August 29, 2016, he received a kidney transplant, which has given him his full life back. Mr. Dolby is currently serving on numerous boards to help other dialysis patients. One of Mr. Dolby's mottos is "never forget where you came from."
