Lupus nephritis quiz

Anyone can get lupus, but lupus affects females more than males. About 90% of people (9 in 10) living with lupus are female. Lupus is most common in women ages 15 to 44, or during the years they can have children.

About 50% (1 in 2) of adults with lupus will have lupus nephritis. The two main risk factors for lupus nephritis are sex and race/ ethnicity. People who have a family member with lupus nephritis are also at a higher risk.

When your kidneys are not working as well as they should, you may have these symptoms. Lupus nephritis affects everyone differently. If you have lupus or lupus nephritis and notice these or any other new symptoms, it is important to talk to your doctor and get your kidneys checked with a blood test, urine test, or kidney biopsy. That is the only way to know if you have lupus nephritis.
