How your support fights kidney disease on all fronts
Support our comprehensive programs that address the physical, emotional and financial burdens patients face, from prevention through transplant.
We are grateful for caring and concerned donors like you. Because of you, no other organization has more impact on the lives of kidney patients. Donate now to fuel the change that patients need to survive today and thrive tomorrow.
Kidney disease is the fastest-growing non-contagious disease in the U.S. 37 million Americans have kidney disease — that's 1 in 7 people. You are a kidney patient's most important partner in fighting their disease on all fronts — from prevention and research through treatment and transplant.
157 kidney transplants per month made possible with AKF's support, more than any other organization.
51 alumni and current AKF scientists advanced nephrology research.
In 2021, nearly 71,000 dialysis and recent transplant patients maintained critically needed health coverage.
Learn about the various other ways that you can financially support AKF to help us be there for patients and their families when they need us most.

A DAF is a centralized vehicle for charitable giving that makes it easy for donors to dedicate funds to support a nonprofit organization. It also provides an operationally convenient and tax-efficient method for donors to manage their charitable giving.
Give today through a donor-advised fund
With a DAF, charitably inclined individuals, families, and businesses make an irrevocable gift to a public charity that sponsors a donor-advised fund program, and may take an immediate tax deduction. Donors can then recommend grants over time to IRS-qualified 501(c)(3) public charities. DAFs also allow donors to approach their charitable giving thoughtfully by involving other family members or colleagues in their philanthropic decisions. Most DAFs accept donations of long-term appreciated securities and other assets, and donors can advise how the funds are invested, which could potentially allow tax-free growth, and could result in more money for AKF.
