Help us END discrimination for organ donors in New Hampshire (HB 1155)

Email your lawmakers

Every day, we lose 13 members of the kidney disease community who are waiting for a kidney transplant. Nearly 2,000 people in the Granite State live with kidney failure. In 2020, 325 new cases of kidney failure were diagnosed in New Hampshire and only 15 were able to get a transplant.

We need to do better.

Email your legislators and ask them to support HB 155 and become co-sponsors. This bill will prevent New Hampshire's life, disability, and long-term care insurers from discriminating against living kidney donors. It will prohibit them from declining coverage or charging higher premiums based on someone's status as a living organ donor.

Passing this bill is one of AKF's top priorities. New Hampshire currently has an F on our Living Donor Protection Report Card. Enaction of this bill will improve the state's grade immediately.

In addition, please forward this to other kidney disease advocates in New Hampshire. We want to make sure everyone in our community is aware of this opportunity.
