Support the New York Living Donor Education Program

Every day, we lose 13 kidney disease community members waiting for a kidney transplant. In 2020, more than 12,000 Texans were newly diagnosed with kidney failure. Only 319 of them received transplants.

We can change this.

Email your representativeand ask them to support the creation of the Living Donor Education Program, HB 2826.

Living organ donation is critical to meeting the needs of Texans waiting for a kidney transplant. The Living Donor Education Program will provide much-needed information on living donation, transplant processes, and unmet needs in minority communities to encourage more people to give the gift of organ donation.

This bill will clear up misconceptions and encourage more people to become living kidney donors to help meet our community's overwhelming need.

Click here to email your legislator and ask them to support the Living Donor Education Program, HB 2826, by becoming a co-sponsor.

I will keep you updated on our progress.

Also, please forward this to other kidney disease advocates in Texas. We want to ensure everyone in our community is aware of this opportunity.

Thank you,

Jon
