Are you struggling to control your potassium levels? If you have kidney disease, you may be at risk for hyperkalemia, or high potassium, because your kidneys cannot remove the extra potassium in your blood. The good news is you can manage potassium levels through the food you eat.

Join us for a cooking demonstration featuring Dr. Blake Shusterman, a nephrologist on a mission to help you eat healthy while living with kidney disease. Dr. Blake will show you how to prepare and cook a delicious low potassium meal. He will also discuss:

  • Potassium considerations when you are cooking
  • Understanding potassium in your foods
  • Substitutions for high potassium ingredients
  • Cooking tips and hacks

The Cooking Doc's Kidney-Healthy Cooking, written by board certified nephrologist Dr. Blake Shusterman (AKA The Cooking Doc), is a simple 10-step guide to kidney wellness. Included in the book are more than 50 low sodium recipes specifically designed for people with chronic kidney disease (CKD), and with modifications for each stage of CKD from 1 to 5.
