There are unique considerations and challenges that come with being a child with kidney disease (pediatric kidney disease). There are unique considerations and challenges that come with being a child with kidney disease (pediatric kidney disease). Since children are still growing, they are at risk for developmental delays due to kidney disease. Children must also rely on their parents or caregivers to help them manage the disease, which can put strain on an entire family.

Caring for a child with kidney disease can seem like a constant balancing act between supporting the child's health, and their wellbeing and sense of life fulfillment.  Understanding the scope of pediatric kidney disease is the first step towards helping children with kidney disease live happy lives, something every child deserves.

Our speaker, Dr. Poyyapakkam Srivaths, is a pediatric nephrologist from the country's largest children hospital – Texas Children's Hospital. During the webinar, Dr. Srivaths will discuss:

  • Differences between kidney disease in children and adults
  • Causes and complications of kidney disease in children
  • Managing kidney disease as a child while maintaining a full childhood
  • Tips and resources for children with kidney disease and their parents/caregivers
