Putting your donations to work
Your donation goes further: We invest 97 cents of every donated dollar in patients and programs. Our steadfast commitment to stewardship of the donated dollar has resulted in the highest ratings from organizations that evaluate charities, including being named a Top 10 Charity by Charity Navigator.
Charity Navigator: Highest 4-star rating
In 2021, Charity Navigator, the nation's premier charity evaluator, awarded the American Kidney Fund its "highest, 4-star" evaluation for sound fiscal management. This is the 20th consecutive time the American Kidney Fund has received the 4-star rating from Charity Navigator, placing AKF on Charity Navigator's list of the Top 10 charities to receive the most consecutive 4-Star ratings — the only health nonprofit to achieve this honor.
We are 1 of only 3 U.S. nonprofits to have received Charity Navigator's highest 4-star rating every year possible.
Charity Navigator evaluates more than 9,000 nonprofits each year using objective, data-driven analysis, and gives 4-star ratings only to the most fiscally responsible organizations. AKF is on Charity Navigator's Top Ten list of nonprofits with the most 4-star ratings, a demonstration that AKF has stood the test of time and is well-positioned to fight kidney disease with a long-term commitment to outstanding stewardship of the donated dollar.
